“Extended Warranty Plan(s)” is the collective term referring to both or either the Canon Warranty Plus and Canon Warranty Plus With Accidental Damage Protection plans, unless otherwise defined.

Why do I need an Extended Warranty Plan since my Canon device is already covered by a standard 1-year warranty?

Purchasing the Extended Warranty Plans will give you an added peace of mind knowing that your investment will be protected with professional maintenance and repair that will enable it to perform in optimum condition for years to come.

What is the difference between Canon Warranty Plus and Canon Warranty Plus with Accidental Damage Protection?

Both plans offer similar coverage over a 24-month time frame. But the key difference is that with Accidental Damage Protection, users will be entitled to a one year coverage for unintentional damage such as spills, drops and knocks.

What do the Extended Warranty Plans cover?

The Extended Warranty Plans provide users with a 24-month coverage on their Canon device that covers product malfunction, defect in design, material and workmanship.

How much do the Extended Warranty Plans cost?

I own more than one Canon device. Which Extended Warranty Plan should I purchase to cover them all?

You will need to purchase the appropriate Canon Extended Warranty plan for each Canon product.

I can’t find the Extended Warranty Plan in the dealer shop for my Canon device. Does that mean that my Canon device cannot be covered by any of the Extended Warranty Plan?

The dealer shops only carry the Extended Warranty Plans for some product models.

How do I activate my Extended Warranty Plans?

You can do an online registration to activate your Extended Warranty Plans here.

How can I purchase Extended Warranty Plans after completing my product purchase at the retail store?

There will be an option to purchase Canon’s Extended Warranty Plan when you register your product online.

Will my Extended Warranty plan be void if I activate the warranty only 3 months after my purchase?

The Extended Warranty Plan purchased will still be valid as long as the application is submitted and accepted by Canon at least one month before the expiry of the original product warranty.

Can the dealer activate the extended warranty plans on my behalf?

Canon’s Extended Warranty Plans can only be activated by the owner of the Canon device as the registration form will require the user’s confidential information.

 

POST PURCHASE SUPPORT

My standard Canon device warranty has expired. Can I still purchase Canon Warranty Plus or Canon Warranty Plus with Accidental Damage Protection?

Warranty Plus can be purchased as long as you have a product still under warranty and you wish to extend the tenure of your product’s warranty beyond the initial 12-months. However, Warranty Plus with Accidental Damage Protection plans is for sale only within the 30-day window of your product purchase.

What should I do if my Canon device should malfunction?

Simply bring your device down to the
Canon Customer Care Centre during operating hours together with your Canon Confirmation slip, Warranty Card and Purchase Receipt.

How long does the repair take?

The time taken for repair varies according to each Canon device and nature of malfunction.

I can’t seem to check my equipment repair status. How can I get help?

I can’t make it to Canon’s Service Centre. Is there any pick up and delivery service for repair?

What should I do if my Canon device breaks down/malfunctions while I’m abroad?

The Canon Asia Traveller Protection Programme (ATPP) provides easy access to professional repair services over 12 countries in Asia. This premium service covers Canon products bought from an authorized Canon dealer with an official Canon warranty. However Extended Warranty is applicable within Singapore only.
