Inkjet printers have made it easy for everyone to create high-quality photo prints at home, which has also in turn greatly changed the way people enjoy photography. Canon Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering (FINE)™ uses an innovative high-performance multi-nozzle print head with up to 6,144 nozzles, that ejects consistent and precise ink droplets as small as 1 picoliter. The results are high-resolution photos with amazing detail and clarity.

Canon’s unique Pigment Reaction (PgR) technology enables presentation-quality text, graphics and photographs to be printed on low-cost plain paper. It works by coating the paper with clear ink as it travels towards the print head. As the pigment inks bond to the clear ink, you get improved saturation, brightness and ink fixation.

The ChromaLife100+ ink system expands color reproduction, especially in red areas. It provides richer and brighter color reproduction, with deeper and more vivid blacks. The dye-based inks are also designed to maximize image quality and weather-resistance, while also extending print longevity.

By analyzing image content, Auto Photo Fix technology is able to automatically categorize photos and make the appropriate corrections. For example, if a face is detected, skin tone and brightness is adjusted for optimum results. Or if scenery is identified, colors are adjusted for greater vividness.
