ION Orchard saw Fashion Come Alive as part of the annual Style Week celebrations.

Style Council members Jeff, Hellven, Kenneth and Elliott were invited for a visual treat with a fashion show that showcased an array of brands from the likes of Bebe, LeSportsac, Moments, Paul Frank, Swarovski, Tom Ford eyewears and of course, Canon with their new range of IXUS cameras.

Hosted by MediaCorp Artiste George Young, the vibrant party atmostphere was one to remember with all the various brands being showcased in a very stylish fashion show.

The much-awaited segment featuring the brand new Canon IXUS 230 HS and 1100 HS was a hit with the Style Council as they gazed at the colours the IXUS came in and how stylish they were as well. Looking at how the models posed with them, the camera is sure to be an ever-present fashion accessory as well.

The week-long celebrations, jointly organised by MediaCorp's Style Magazine and ION Orchard, started on October 19 and saw boutiques showcasing their latest collections and offering exclusive promotions and discounts.

Photography for an outdoor fashion show at night like the Style Event is always very challenging as you have little light to work with and a small window of time to capture the shot of the model on the runway as he or she poses for that second or two before moving off to let the next model have the spot.

But it is also in such situations that the HS system of the IXUS shines as you can rely on the maximum ISO for decent shots like the ones you see in this article.

The continuous autofocus tracking also did a commendable job here as even though it was in unfavorable lighting, it was fairly accurate and we achieved these shots with a bit of pre-empting the moment to press the shutter button.
