Have you guys heard of the super spicy Buffalo wings challenge? If you’ve not heard of it, you should definitely try it!

I went to Sunset Bar and Grill armed with a hearty appetite and my IXUS, along with Jeff, Miyake and a few other people for the challenge. The Buffalo wings are made in terms of the spiciness and the rate it in terms of levels. So level 0 is not spicy and as the level goes up it gets spicier. The highest level would be level 35!

I heard reviews about it saying that some people vomited or fainted after trying level 30 or 35!

Look at the Chili Heads Hall of Fame!

This Chili Heads Hall of Fame is for the people who have taken up the challenge by eating all the Buffalo wings for level 30 onwards.

So here are some nachos before we start the challenge. Yummy yummy!

This picture is taken in Miniature Mode on the Canon IXUS. It focuses on a certain part of the picture and blurs out the other part. When using this effect, the color is more vibrant and makes the part of the picture that is focused stands out more.

The plate on the left is level 0 while the plate on the right is level 2. You can see that the Buffalo wings on the right are much redder than the ones on the left.

First, we started with level 2. It is not very spicy as I am someone who can eat spicy food so it is not that spicy for me. The Buffalo wings is not that bad too. It is quite crispy.

Next, we skipped on to level 5.
You can see that there’s the sauce on top of the Buffalo wings and it is much redder than level 2.

When I took one of the wings, I can literally smell the chili! I try eating it slowly as I’m afraid that it might be too spicy. I realized that when you eat the wings, you will slowly feel the spiciness and it hurts my tongue. After finishing the wings, it is still manageable, just that it is a little spicier than the normal chili that I usually eat.

At this point of time, Jeff was already at his limit.

You can see that his mouth is already so thick and swollen. His reddening lips and complexion highlighted with the Color Accent effect on IXUS.

With Color Accent, you can choose which color you want the camera to detect and the color will be shown when you take the picture. The picture detects the color of his mouth therefore the color stands out more as the other colors are in black and white.

Last but not least, we tried level 7!

You can see there’s a lot more sauce on top of the Buffalo wings. The smell is stronger than level 5 and I felt quite nervous when I was trying it as I’m afraid that my mouth might be swollen like Jeff’s.

Level 7 Buffalo wings is very spicy and I had to drink milk so that it is not that spicy and painful. I can feel that my mouth is a little painful after eating and I kept tearing.

After the challenge, we ordered desserts! We have to reward ourselves for taking up this challenge


So overall, it was a great experience as you cannot find Buffalo wings as spicy as theirs. The downside is that they do not do delivery or take-away so if you want to try you will have to go to their restaurant to eat it. Another thing is that the place is located in a deserted area and it would take quite some time to get to the place because not a lot of people know how to get to that restaurant.
