Powering Up Business and Education Presentations: Canon Introduces Six New LCD Projectors
Singapore, 28 April 2010 – Complementing its strong line-up of high-performance LCOS XEED Series projectors, Canon today introduces six affordable LCD LV Series projectors ideal for business and education. The new line-up includes two new widescreen WXGA (1920 x 800 pixels) – LV8310 and LV8215 – and four XGA (1024 x 768 pixels) models - LV7385, LV7380, LV7285 & LV 7280. The new projectors share a wide variety of innovations including high brightness, extended lamp life, Auto Energy Saver features and the ability to project a 300” image from a distance of 12m.

Responding to the growing popularity of widescreen notebook and desktop computers, Canon's new LV-8310 and LV-8215 LCD Multimedia Projectors provide native WXGA widescreen resolution (1280 x 800) and an aspect ratio of 16:10. This enables these two new projectors to support WXGA resolution computers without the need for compression or distortion.
Each projector also has multiple inputs for a wide variety of computer, video and control sources. The DVI-I interface ensures a digital connection supports the HDCP and high-definition contents available today (HD signals supported include 1080i and 720p). Also included is an RS-232 port and a built-in RJ-45 network port which is most often used by colleges/universities and those managing larger AV systems to connect projectors to an existing network to conveniently control them from a remote location.

Auto Iris Mode: Optimal light levels automatically
Two of the XGA models (LV7285 and LV7280) feature a new Auto Iris Mode, which works like the human eye to automatically adjust the quantity of light produced in relation to ambient light. This results in the ability to create deeper blacks and an enhanced contrast ratio of 2000:1 (up from 500:1).

Easy access and handling
Each projector comes with a built-in handle for convenient carrying and top-removable covers for easy maintenance and additional mounting options. All six models are also equipped with an integrated 7W speaker that offers excellent audio levels even in large spaces such as classrooms.

Improved Lamp Lighting System: Reduces power consumption and CO2 emissions by operating the lamp at a lower wattage (without reducing lamp intensity) - extending lamp life by 1000hrs over previous models using the same bulb (total of 4,000 hours in Normal Mode and 5,000 hours in Quiet Mode) |

Auto Energy Saver: Switches the projector to Quiet Mode when no input signal is received for one minute – saving energy and prolonging lamp-life |
