Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE 4000 Series Empowers Growing Businesses with Advanced Enterprise-grade Imaging and Document Processing Capabilities Businesses increase efficiency and productivity by optimising imaging and document management processes with imageRUNNER ADVANCE 4000 series

Singapore, 5 June 2012 – Canon today announced the launch of the innovative imageRUNNER ADVANCE (iR-ADV) 4000 series of monochrome multifunction devices (MFDs) to offer efficient document workflow for busy workgroups. Boasting advanced print quality, usability, security, management and productivity features, the iR-ADV 4000 series strengthens and complements the existing MFD offering by providing better document management capabilities to meet the demands of growing businesses.

Findings from a 2011 AMI-Partners study commissioned by Canon revealed that one third of print activity in midsize and large companies is customer facing, indicating that organisations need to review print activity to better align their relevance and importance of that activity to the print solutions. Instead of taking a broad-brush approach to manage print processes and costs, companies should clearly define their print management process and identify the appropriate combination of print solutions that will effectively meet their business requirements.

"The iR-ADV 4000 MFDs are ideal additions to any organisation’s network. Corporate workgroups looking to optimise their printing solution, and SMBs sourcing for cost efficient enterprise-grade printing and imaging solutions will benefit from the on-demand scalability that they can enjoy with the advance print and standard cloud computing features of the iR-ADV 4000 series.” said Von Chan, Director and General Manager of Business Imaging Solutions Division and Business Solutions Division, Canon Singapore. “The iR-ADV 4000 MFDs provide organisations access to the cloud, regardless of their size. We are confident that the new iR-ADV monochrome MFPs with enterprise-grade document processing capabilities series will help businesses improve productivity and maximise cost savings with the strategic deployment of complementary imaging and document processing devices."

Accelerated Efficiency with Advanced Features
Comprising of the iR-ADV 4025, iR-ADV 4035, and iR-ADV 4045, which are successors to the older imageRUNNER 3200 series, and the new iR-ADV 4051 , the iR-ADV 4000 series is designed to improve productivity and cost efficiencies for growing businesses with secured copying, scanning, printing and document management capabilities in a single device. Compared to its predecessors, the iR-ADV 4000 series incorporates Canon’s proprietary print technologies which streamline workflows, reduce downtime and create efficiency. This includes:

  • Canon’s Universal Send technology which allows users to distribute scanned documents to multiple destinations, ranging from individual or group email addresses, to local mail boxes, network folders and document management systems.
  • Canon’s Ultra Fine Rendering II print language which automatically determines the optimal balance of processing for each page and delivers high-quality print outputs with less device memory and processing time compared to conventional print architectures

Seamless Interconnectivity
The iR-ADV 4000 series devices seamlessly integrate with existing infrastructure to maximise productivity. An ideal solution for both SMBs and enterprises, all iR-ADV 4000 MFDs can be easily connected together via Advanced Box, allowing multiple users to collaborate on a shared folder and access files from PCs, or other networked iR-ADV systems.

Other enterprise-grade imaging and document management capabilities users can enjoy with the iR-ADV 4000 series include tailored workflow tasks that are customized according to specific business needs. By bridging iR-ADV 4000 series devices to external storage or document management systems via Canon Multifunctional Embedded Application Platform (MEAP) Connectors, businesses can also connect to widely used document management solutions, such as Nuance eCopy ShareScan, Therefore Online, and uniFLOW, and popular cloud platforms like Salesforce.com, Evernote, Google Docs and Microsoft Sharepoint to streamline their processes and automate tedious administration.

With the optional Remote Fax kit, users can achieve significant cost savings as well by conveniently faxing through other fax-capable imageRUNNER ADVANCE devices in the network. Users can also enjoy high-speed 4-line fax transmission with the optional Super G3 fax functionality.

Increasing Value with Cloud Computing
With cloud services as a standard feature, businesses can expect to maximise office productivity. They can easily scan and store their paper documents or choose to retrieve and print their documents stored in the Cloud service with the bundled Nuance eCopy Scan to Cloud, a standard feature in iR-ADV MFDs. In addition, the cloud-enabled iR-ADV MFDs allows users to use Optical Character Recognition to convert documents into their Document Management Systems as a highly compressed PDF or in an editable format.

Using their mobile devices, office users who are frequently on the go can now print important documents and emails via the web, without the need to download an application or install a print driver.

Compliant with the IEEE 2600.1 Standard1 , the iR-ADV 4000 Series Multifunction Printers also enable businesses to securely process and manage documents.

Time, Cost and Energy Efficient
Featuring the ADVANCED imageCHIP system architecture, the iR-ADV 4000 series delivers higher quality printouts in a shorter time. Featuring image and information processor boards, the dual processor system works with the scanner to ensure superior image quality while controlling user interface and coordinating device networking and connectivity to reduce wait time.

The iR-ADV 4000 series delivers high speed full-colour scanning and black-and-white printing of up to 51 pages per minute (ppm) on the iR-ADV 40512. Optional modular units featuring both external and internal accessories effectively increase productivity with automatic collation and stapling. Optional paper decks add an additional 2,700 sheets, and the optional document feeding saves users time by allowing archiving and reprinting of up to 100 document reproductions at the press of a button.

Users can further streamline their workflow and increase productivity by pre-configuring frequently used settings on the devices’ Quick Menu. In addition, they can take advantage of the plug and print capabilities with standard USB for convenient printing. Featuring zero ozone emissions, the iR-ADV 4000 series is also suitable for offices practicing a green procurement policy.

It defines requirement specifications for office use as well as government agencies where high level of assurance is required.

2The iR-ADV 4025, iR-ADV 4035 and iR-ADV 4045 prints at 25, 35 and 45ppm respectively.
