Singapore, 22 June 2010 – Canon today announced the launch of the CanoScan 9000F colour image scanner, its highest-resolution CCD flatbed scanner to date. The high-speed CanoScan 9000F features built-in professional film scanning, incredible 48-bit colour depth and the ability to digitise both mounted 35mm slides and film strips in 35mm or 120 formats, making it ideal for consumers looking to create perfect digital copies for sharing and preservation.

The Highest Scan Quality and Performance
With a 9,600 x 9,600dpi CCD sensor, the CanoScan 9000F provides unsurpassed image reproduction with incredible detail. In addition, 48-bit colour depth (281 trillion possible colours) ensures accurate colour rendition and digital images ready for enlargement and high resolution printing.
The CanoScan 9000F features a new film adaptor that allows greater light penetration, enabling even faster speeds - with one frame of 35mm negative film scanned in approximately 18 seconds (at 1,200dpi resolution).
Further aiding accuracy and high-quality colour reproduction is FARE Level 3 technology which delivers automatic dust and scratch removal in addition to providing fading, grain and backlight correction. Auto Document Fix has been added to help maintain readability of important documents by sharpening and blackening the text. The CanoScan 9000F is also capable of scanning up to four 35mm slides or 12 35mm filmstrips at one time.
Designed for easy use and efficiency
To increase overall ease-of-use in performing of tasks, the CanoScan 9000F comes equipped with seven EZ buttons allowing consumers to quickly copy, e-mail or create a PDF file with the push of a button. The CanoScan 9000F takes this functionality one step further with the 'Auto-Scan' button for automatic recognition type of originals, scanning and saving with appropriate settings.
Additionally, the CanoScan 9000F also features an accurate Optical Character Recognition (OCR) function to convert printed text to editable electronic documents without the hassle of retyping.
Auto Document Fix and Auto Photo Fix II technologies are now incorporated in the Auto Scan Mode. In scanning documents composed of text and images, Auto Document Fix delivers beautiful and easy-to-view scan results by advanced image analysis and area-by-area data correction. Similarly, Auto Photo Fix II resolves common faults like washed-out faces, dull skin tones or over/under-saturated scenery, and the ability to “recognise” the type of scene in a photo.
The CanoScan 9000F is elegantly designed with smooth flowing lines and a combination of piano black and silver construction. This unique spring-hinge enables the lid of CanoScan 9000F to stay opened at 60 degrees, allowing users to accommodate bulky source material. Through the use of LED technology, the scanner starts up almost instantly, earning it Energy Star compliance. In line with RoHS ratings, the CanoScan 9000F reinforces Canon's commitment to the environment.

The CanoScan 9000F is bundled with a powerful suite of high quality software for imaging, creative and business applications. This includes Adobe PhotoShop Elements and MP Navigator EX, which makes operating the scanner and performing complex operations simple and easy.

The new CanoScan 9000F is available at authorised Canon dealers, and the recommended retail price is S$319.
