National Environment Agency (NEA) Recycling Week

Recycling Week 2012 (September 2012)
As part of our effort to realise our corporate philosophy of kyosei, Canon Singapore, for the third year, participated in the Recycling Week roadshow organised by the National Environment Agency (NEA). The purpose of the event, held on 9 September next to Jurong East interchange, was to create public awareness towards Canon’s recycling programme.

At Canon’s exhibition booth, visitors were educated on the ink cartridge and digital camera recycling processes. Canon is the first company to showcase to the public that cameras can be recycled during NEA Recycling Week. Recycling bins were also made available for those who want to recycle their used Canon cartridges and products. Many visitors dropped off their old inkjet printers, scanners, cameras, typewriter and toner cartridges for recycling.

Through our participation in the event, we have gained greater public awareness on Canon’s recycling effort.

Canon's recycling initiatives are guided by our kyosei philosphy that focuses on 'living and working together for the common good' and we are dedicated to the green movement and being socially-responsible in the environment where we operate in.

Earth Hour Campaign

Let's make a difference! Lights out for Earth Hour!

March was very much Earth Hour month as Canon Singapore once again supported this global movement both outwardly to our customers as well as inwardly to colleagues. Canon dealers also got into the act and lend their support to the global grass-roots movement.

Part of the Earth Hour initiative includes asking staff to turn off their home lights. Propagating this message, Canon Singapore puts up Earth Hour posters in their Customer Service Centre, Canon Imaging Academy and VivoCity Showroom. Lights were also turned off in a united stand with the rest of the world - a symbol of hope for a cause that grows more urgent by the hour.

We join the world to take positive actions for the environment – We Care for Our Mother Earth. Earth Hour has gone beyond switching off lights for one hour per year. It is about raising awareness of sustainability issues to create a better future for our planet.
