What is the Canon EOS Academy?
Canon is always happy to help you delve deeper into your relationship with photography. With the legendary Canon EOS system as a foundation, the EOS Academy offers day-long photography workshops designed to introduce budding photographers to the joy of Digital SLR (DSLR) photography. The workshops are conducted based on a carefully constructed syllabus that's accessible, hands-on, and fun! It is tailored to the needs of beginners, with a goal to motivate and inspire. Participants can to try their hands on Canon EOS DSLR cameras, print their favourite photos on cutting-edge Canon PIXMA photo printers, and benefit from a critique session with our professional trainers.

Who can join?
We conduct workshops for a minimum of 20 people at once. This makes the Canon EOS Academy great for educational institutes and corporate companies who are looking for an enriching extracurricular activity or a great creative outlet. It's also perfect for interest groups- and not only photography interest groups! For instance, your bird watchers' group may find it useful to learn more about photography.

Where are the workshops held?
Most Canon EOS Academy workshops are held on location at premises that suit the convenience of your group. As long as the premises support a good learning experience (e.g available power points and space for the use of a projector, sufficient space to fit all participants comfortably, etc.) we're happy to meet you there! Sometimes, workshops are also held in the Canon Digital Lab.

How must does it cost?
All Canon EOS Academy workshops are free of charge!

How do I apply for the Canon EOS Academy?
To apply, email us at eosacademy@canon.com.sg with details about your group and we'll get back to you as soon as possible! The availability of the workshops is solely at the discretion of Canon Singapore.

Graduating!

Here are the works of the students at the end of the workshops

Testimonials from the teachers

"Photography is not just about pressing the shutter button of the camera; it is about using the camera to capture that special moment. This course has successfully equipped my students with the basic knowledge on how a camera works, as a result I find them taking better quality photos.

Students are taught on the working principles (shutter, aperture and ISO) of a DSLR and at the end of the course, they are able to manipulate the function of the camera easily. They enjoyed the course tremendously as everyone was able to have ample practical hands-on time on the DSLR camera. A love and appreciation for the art of photography is thus cultivated in them."

"Trainers exhibit good interaction with students.

On behalf of my Principal and Digital Media Club students in St Anthony's Canossian Secondary School, I would like to thank you both for giving our students an enriching and interesting basic photography skill workshop on Wednesday, 12 Sept 2007.

The 3-hour session, gave the students sufficient knowledge on of the various photography terms and techniques and also an opportunity to handle the camera with confidence. My students expressed that they had gained better knowledge and confidence in handling a Digital SLR camera now. They are also very happy to learn a few new tricks.

As their teacher I truly appreciate your kindness, patience and generosity in sharing your time, knowledge and skills with them."

" Dear Russell

Like to thank you and Mr. Edwin for the wonderful workshop session conducted for us at Assumption Vocational Institute on the 26th Nov 07(Mon)

The staff and students enjoyed the lessons and hands-on. Its is good exposure for them to know basic camera technique and also the different models of Canon SLR.

At present our camera club holds only compact camera. Hopefully we can acquire SLR camera next year.

The sharing on the Canon Photo Marathon is indeed inspiring and motivational for our student.

The workshop has benefited our student and staffs. Keep up the good work.

Thanks. Have a good day! "
