What is the Canon DV Academy?
Canon is always happy to help you learn more about making a video from start to end. Participants will be taught the basics of handling a video camcorder, editing a short video clip and output their work into a DVD. The workshop will also cover tips and techniques to improve your video skills, based on a carefully constructed syllabus that's accessible, hands-on, and fun! It is tailored to the needs of beginners, with a goal to motivate and inspire.

Who can join?
We conduct workshops for a minimum of 20 people at once. This makes the Canon DV Academy great for educational institutes and corporate companies who are looking for an enriching extracurricular activity or a great creative outlet. It's also perfect for interest groups- and not only photography interest groups! For instance, your bird watchers' group may find it useful to learn more about photography.

Where are the workshops held?
Most Canon DV Academy workshops are held on location at premises that suit the convenience of your group. As long as the premises support a good learning experience (e.g available power points and space for the use of a projector, sufficient space to fit all participants comfortably, etc.) we're happy to meet you there! Sometimes, workshops are also held in the Canon Digital Lab.

How must does it cost?
All Canon DV Academy workshops are free of charge!

How do I apply for the Canon DV Academy?
The Canon DV Academy is commencing soon. To apply, email us at dvacademy@canon.com.sg with details about your group and we'll get back to you as soon as possible! The availability of the workshops is solely at the discretion of Canon Singapore.

What the Canon DV Academy is NOT: The Canon DV Academy should not be mistaken for the free product training that comes with your purchase of a Canon digital camera, camcorder, or PIXMA printer. To find out about the free product training, please click here.
